Peter Low is both artist and ceramist. Over 50 years, he produced  a diverse, principled body of work that imported his deep understanding of Chinese symbolism  and form into a modern ceramic context. Low trained at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore (1967), and West Surrey College of Art and Design, United Kingdom in Ceramics and Printmaking (1973).

 

Over more than 40 years, Low taught ceramists in Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan including internationally acclaimed artists Nelson Lim,  Steven Low Thia Kwang, Tan Teck Heng, Teo Huey Ling and upstart makers Zestro Leow and Shayne Phua. 

 

This timely exhibition includes key selections from the artist’s collection produced in the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia seen together for the first time.
