SHAPING CLAY seeks to give a current, selective view of noteworthy ceramic works made by clay makers based in Singapore, and which point to the future of Singapore ceramics. The Selection Panel seeks to exhibit works that are artistic, original, innovative, fresh, creative, stretching the boundaries of ceramic work, that may have a sense of cultural identity and imagination.

 

Applications are open to all clay makers who are Singapore citizens or who are based in Singapore.

APPLICATION

 

• Submit your completed application with links to portfolio and proposed works by 21 July 2026 23:59h.

• Submit your artist statement (PDF format) of not more than 100 words, with your portfolio of images of 8  - 10 ceramic works. 

• In addition, submit images of 4 - 5 new or recent works for consideration to be exhibited at SHAPING CLAY. Works should be produced not earlier than 2022.

• Selected participants will be asked to submit works for exhibition, with 4 – 5 works to be chosen by the Selection Panel.

• Works must primarily be in ceramics medium.

• The Organizers will confirm if your work has been selected for Shaping Clay by 18 August 2026. This enables participants to prepare and exhibit new works if required by November 2026.

 

COST OF PARTICIPATION

• Clay Makers' Market 2026 (CMM26) participants: no participation fee is payable for this submission.

• Clay makers not exhibiting at the Clay Makers' Market are welcome to apply. If your work is selected for exhibition, an administration fee of SGD 75 is payable.

• No fees are payable on application.

• All works exhibited must be for sale. A sales commission of 30% of the sale price of the work will be charged by the Organizers for sales at SHAPING CLAY. 

• Just 8 – 10 exhibitors will be selected for exhibition. The decision of the Selection Panel is final.
