ADULT WORKSHOP 2
SURFACE DECORATION TECHNIQUES AND DEMONSTRATIONS
Expand your vocabulary in decorating pottery at the Singapore Clay Festival!
Experienced instructors from Clay-Street will show and guide you on how to decorate using the following methods:
• Slip trailing on bisqueware
• Painting with underglazes
• Watercolour effects
Demonstrations on newsprint transfer, Mishima and Sgraffito will also be demonstrated by an expert potter.

Facilitators
Chew Seow Phuang is a master potter with an experience of more than 30 years as a full time ceramic artist. He has conducted and participated in multiple workshops and exhibitions in Singapore and abroad.
Mona Malhotra is a trained textile designer and a practising ceramic artist with an experience of over 13 years as a pottery instructor in Singapore and Malaysia. She is actively involved in conducting pottery classes for all age levels. Mona has conducted various corporate workshops and also organised pottery firing workshops as well as successfully curated exhibitions in Singapore and Malaysia.

CHILDREN WORKSHOPS
WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-9
SLAB, PINCH, SCULPT!
Young children will enjoy this hands-on beginner’s pottery-making workshop at the Singapore Clay Festival.
Daphne Pok has extensive experience in leading children’s pottery sessions. She will show and guide participants to make an animal plate or bowl/pot/cup using slab work and pinching techniques. Children will paint their creations with underglaze, and their bisqued works will be dipped in transparent glaze and fired.

WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AGED 9-12
GETTING BETTER AT POTTERY
This workshop at the Singapore Clay Festival is designed for older children with some pottery experience and skills.
Daphne Pok has extensive experience in leading children’s pottery sessions. She will show and guide the participants as they make a volcano incense burner or a sculpted vase. Projects may vary according to the age and experience of registrants.

Facilitator
Daphne Pok started pottery in Hong Kong two decades ago and has since exhibited work as well as completed commissioned pieces for auctions and private collections. Previously a practicing architect and volunteer tutor for underprivileged children, Daphne is now turning her attention to her work as a potter. She has a strong passion for education, and has experience leading children’s pottery sessions in Shanghai. She also holds a certificate in Teaching for Special Learning Differences from the Dyslexic Association of Singapore.
